In over a decade of professional practice, I have handled over six thousand criminal cases in and out of the courtroom. This experience includes nearly every type of criminal case, including more than 70 jury trials and 400 preliminary hearings.
I am also uniquely qualified by the California State Bar to handle serious capital offenses, including murder charges for clients who have multiple convictions.
Felony cases are difficult, but my record includes three consecutive “not guilty” verdicts in these serious charges. One case even resulted in an acquittal for a client facing 25 years to life in prison for a client with two prior convictions on his record. After we were able to get a favorable verdict, the client was free to go that day.
I have been able to convince juries of self-defense to get “not guilty” verdicts, and have multiple wins in my 13 year career. You can view my impressive record on my case results page.
After graduating from Santa Clara University in 1998, I moved on to the University of San Diego School of Law, graduating with my Juris Doctorate in 2003. I gained valuable experience as an intern for the San Diego Public Defenders Office, where I had the opportunity to work on a serious murder case later used for an episode of Law and Order on NBC.
I was later hired by the San Diego Public Defenders Office, working only with clients accused and arrested for crimes. In my years of experience, I am not a prosecutor, not have I ever been. It is important that my clients know that I have never worked for “the other side.”
My reputation in the legal community is one of absolute commitment to my clients and their defense. I am focused on achieving justice for those accused, no matter how serious the charge. I am particularly proud of the moments when I am able to prove a false accusation or defend my clients against unfair charges. As a trusted San Diego criminal defense lawyer, I work hard to get you the justice you deserve.
